There is a regular teacher in each Circle jail, District Jail, Spl. Jail and Spl. Sub-Jail to impart education to the inmates. Besides, organisation like NIOS, IGNOU are also extending their support for the higher studies of the inmates. By this system a number of inmates have already been passed exam like HSC, Graduation and post graduation. They have also opened study centres in most of the prisons.

Telephone/television

Exclusive land line telephones have been installed in most of the prisons for the legitimate communication requirements of the prisoners. The inmates are being provided with television facility in order to keep them in touch with the present society and to get rid of the effect of monotonous life.

Cultural and Spiritual Programmes are organised frequently in order to bring a change in the mind of the inmates. Spiritual programmes like Yoga and Meditation are being conducted by organisations like Art of Leaving, PrajapitaBrahma Kumari, Iscon etc, at regular intervals in order to keep their mind free from the evil impact of incarceration.
