To impart training in Correctional Administration and allied subjects to the officers in the ranks of Sub-Assistant Jailors to Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, from Junior Correctional Officer to Chief Probation Officer and guarding staffs in the ranks of warders to chief warder and ministerial staffs working in Prisons Organisation of the State and other states under BPR&D training module.
To promote and provide for the study of Correctional Administration with special reference to Criminal Justices and the machinery of Government and for educational purposes incidental thereto.
To undertake, organize and facilitate study courses, conference, lectures, and research in matters relating to Prisons and Correctional Administration and the Machinery of Government.
To impart necessary computer training to facilitate the ongoing e-prison project undertaken by the Government in Jails of Odisha.
To undertake and provide for the publication of a journal and of research papers and books to impart training in and promote study of Correctional Administration.
To establish and maintain Libraries and information services to facilitate the study of Prisons and Correctional Administration and spreading information in regard thereof.
To Co-operate with approved institutions and bodies for the purpose of helping the cause of Prisons and Correctional Administration.
To undertake and accept the management of any endowment or trust fund or donation.
To do all such other lawful things as are conducive or incidental to the attainment of the above objects.
